iPod mini is popular product which is stopped launch of iPod Nano on September 7, 2005. There were a lot of fears and illusion to stop iPod mini and starting of this new iPod but it shocked the world with one million purchases in first 17 days of its announcement. iPod nano is a mixture of iPod shuffle and iPod (other generations of iPod). Nano uses flash memory like iPod shuffle but have color screen and click wheels like iPods.

Display, measurement and display of iPod nano
Nano was launched in two colors which are black and white. It is 1.6 inch wide, 3.5 inch long, 27 inch thick and weighs only 1.5 ounce (42 grams). Its display size is 176×132 pixels, its screen is 1.5 inch diagonal and it can display 65536 colors. Nano uses flash drive instead of hard drive so there are less moving parts and there are a few chances of skipping. This is the reason that Nano is ideal to use during jogging and exercising.

Sound Quality of iPod nano
iPod Nano uses sound codec of 4th generation iPods that is wm8975. 1st and 2nd generation iPods use wm8721. 3rd generation iPods and iPod mini use audio codec WM8731L so quality of sound is identical to 4th generation iPods which is very superior.

Generations of iPod nano
There are two generations of nano till now that are 1st and 2nd generation. 1st generation (introductory nano) consists of two variants. One is 2 GB and other is 4 GB, both have a capacity of 500 and 1000 songs respectively. Later on February 7, 2006. 1 GB model is also added in the lineup with storage capacity of 240 songs. 2nd generation of nano was introduced on September 12, 2006. This consists of 2.4 and 8 GB storage capacity which is doubled as compared to 1st generation (1, 2 and 4 GB capacity).
2nd generation iPod nano is much superior as compared to 1st generation. Battery time is extended to 24 hours from 14 hours; casing is being made as scratch proof because 1st generation has scratching complaints. Screen is 40 % brighter. New generation also supports gap less audio playback and new search options.

Accessories of iPod nano
iPod nano comes with all standard accessories which include standard white iPod headphones, a USB cable and a dock adapter. Standard dock connector port and headphone jack are located under right portion and a hold switch is placed on the top. Nike + iPod is one of the accessory which is designed for nano and can sync information including distance traveled, running pace and burned calories. There is lack of remote connector and absence of synchronization with FireWire is big reasons of its criticism. Due to lack of remote connector many third party accessories don’t work with it however many manufacturers introduced connectivity through dock connector port.
