There are very few general retailers that are widely known all over the world. And these companies are famous and notorious. They provide some services and products that people need in many countries in the world. Marketing managers of these companies develops some outstanding plans that help these companies to win the popularity of so many people. First of all they gain popularity in their own country and then expand into foreign markets. Surely, there are some exceptions when everything happens vice versa, but they are rare. General Information. Direct Buy is a privately held American company. Direct Buy was founded in 1971 by James L. Gagan. Direct Buy in headquartered in Merrillville, Indiana. The company specializes in sale of a huge selection of products: furniture for all rooms of the house, household appliances, consumer electronics, tile, cabinets and much more. The company operates over hundred and a half of showroom all over the United States and in Canada. The very first Canadian Direct Buy was opened in 1996. Beside, the company was incorporated. The company was previously a wholly owned subsidiary of United Consumers Club and then Trivest acquired it.

Direct Buy Membership Programs. Direct Buy membership offers a diverse range of opportunities to its members. The members can purchase different merchandise directly from the manufacturer and its suppliers. That allows to set comparatively low prices because the marketing model avoids the middleman. Memberships are for two or three years. The price of the membership ranges from 3 to 6 thousand dollars. Later on the member can renew the membership. But there is one problem: the prices of merchandise and membership may vary by location. This is because each franchise is individually operated. Still, the number of advantages of Direct Buy membership prevails and that is why the number of members grows up very fast.
